How SummarizAI handles video data for summarization
Summaries need transcript-related content and metadata to be useful. This page explains what the extension collects for summarization and where to read legal terms.
What runs on the watch page
The Chrome extension reads video context available on YouTube—title, description, timing, captions when present, and visible comment text when threads load—then sends what is required to generate your summary.
Sign-in on Free
Free tier uses sign-in so daily quota and preferences sync across devices. We do not sell your data—details live in Privacy.
Captions first, audio when needed
Caption tracks produce the fastest, most accurate timestamps. When captions are missing, audio transcription may run subject to limits and processing time.
Sensitive recordings
Treat internal all-hands, medical, or legal content like any third-party AI tool: summarize only what policy allows and verify quotes via timestamps.
Your controls
Manage billing through Stripe when on Pro. Contact support@summarizai.ink for account questions listed on the privacy page.
